Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God, believe also in Me.

Jesus was talking to his disciples after Judas' betrayal. He was telling them to trust in Him.

Haven't you heard this phrase all your life? "Let not your heart be troubled."

The words came from Jesus. Spoken in truth.

There are so many things that trouble our hearts. This list can be long. But if we anchor our heart in Jesus, the One who died on the cross for our sins, we have a place of peace to turn to. Not that all the chaos will immediately go away, but for even a moment we can rest in the One who can give us peace.

Sunday Psalm

Psalm 44:4-5

You are my King, O God;
Command victories from Jacob,
Through You we will push down
our enemies;
Through Your name we will trample
those who rise up against us.

The Children of God

The Father loved us enough to call us the children of God.

1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father las bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.
NKJV

Even if you don't have children, you were once a child. Taken care of, fed, clothed. This is the same way God takes care of us. We are His children.

You may be thinking along the lines that God can't just put clothes in my closet. He could if He wanted to, but  another point is this.
It's the perspective.
Yes, it's how we see things that enables us to know and believe God for all He is and can do.  He can change the way we think. He can change the way we look at certain situations.
He can change everything.

Have you ever had a situation changed by God? Have you ever had a situation you wished would be changed?

Joy in Trials

Do you ever feel like you're in the middle of something you just can't shake? Do you ever feel like you are going through a trial of sorts? Be it physically or emotionally?

It happens to everybody---even those who look put together on the outside, trust me, they have gone through hard times at one point or another.

James 1:2-3  My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Patience---hmmm.....

The word of the Lord says trials produce patience. We can't look at our trials with a heavy heart. We must look for the gem God is trying to show us through them.

Have you had a trial lately? Were you able to find any sort of joy through it?

Sunday Psalm

Psalm 66 1-4
1.Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
2. Sing out the honor of His name;
Make His praise glorious.
3. Say to God, "How awesome are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit
themselves to You.
4. All the earth shall worship You
and sing praises to You;
They shall sing praises to Your name."

Sharing It All

Psalm 41: 1-2
1 Blessed is he who considers the poor;
The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2  The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive,
And he will be blessed on the earth;

There are always people who have more "stuff" than we do. There are also people who have less "stuff." But is this Psalm talking about "stuff?" Or is it talking about poor in a different manner. Poor of spirit?
We can apply the more than/less than theory to that, also. We must share what the Lord has given us. Material-wise and spiritual-wise.

If you can give someone furniture or clothing or anything else you might have that's awesome. But we must also be willing to give what God has instilled in our hearts. The love He has for us. And we are called to share that love with others.

It's sometimes easier to give away our "stuff" rather than giving away His love, His words, His message. Giving away our stuff is less personal--it's doing a good deed and it doesn't appear to be pushy. When we share His message and love, sometimes it's not well received.

God loves us. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Go and tell someone.

Black and White

Wanted to share one of the stories of the Just Share It Journey. We were praying and fasting about the ministry. There are a lot of things to consider when embarking on an adventure like this! One of the aspects was colors, logos and just the whole image--I mean it's a pretty visual world for the most part and you certainly want to have "the look" when presenting anything to the public.
 During this time of prayer and fasting we felt like we heard clearly from God regarding this aspect. It was very cool and so God!  He distinctly told us the colors were to be black and white. Just like following Him. You either do or you don't. He's not a God of gray. He's pure and He is!

So, black and white became our colors. Simple. Following Jesus is simple. It's not easy, but it's simple.

This is the first of our share-it-stories. We hope to have a lot more to bring to you.

One Thing Remains

With the passing of Labor Day, it seems to bring an end to some sort of summer mentality. But the hot weather keeps us in that summer mode for a while longer. Toss the white shoes, bring out the college football. Seasons change. We change. Circumstances around us change.
But one thing remains. The love God has for us.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

We must always dig down to the place inside where we know this to be true. Where we know God's love. Because it is the one thing that will not fail.

And as we remember this for ourselves, we remember that this is how we treat others. This is the love we show others. This is how we reflect the love God has for us---by showing others this love.

Launch Day!!

It's launch day for Just Share It Ministries!  We are venturing out into the world with the message of hope and encouragement for all!!

Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Yes, the love of God has been poured into our hearts. It's how we know how to love, because he first loved us. And the one thing we can't give up on is hope. As Beth Moore said in her Believing God study "Don't take away my hope!" And she said it loudly!

DON'T TAKE AWAY MY HOPE!

The hope of Jesus Christ is all we really have. We know He's coming back. We know He loves us. When we have nothing else we have Him.

Search your heart for the love God has blessed us with. There is no greater love than His.
